The Scythians were the people who habituated Ukraine. Both Scythian women and men fought. It was the female Scythian fighters that are believed to have been labeled by the Macedonians as “Amazons”. It is also interesting to note that it was the Scythians who were first recorded to use ‘Scorched Earth’. The Scythians were never defeated in battle. Ukrainian ‘Fighting Women’ are today’s Amazons.
